"you are special, stonepaw. you have a connection with starclan that no one else has." those words rung in the young tom's ears as he stirred, his eyes fluttering open. another one of those dreams, huh? he slowly sat up and stretched, letting out a soft groan. "special, huh?" stonepaw mused to himself as he lowered his gaze, staring at his paws. though it was true, he seemed to be closer to starclan than anyone else in the clan. except for lionfire, of course-- but they could've chosen anyone. why him of all cats? with a blink he firmly shook his head and stood up, letting out a soft yawn. it was strange, not being in the nursery anymore, but he wasn't alone, at least.[break][break]
his gaze briefly landed on lionfire's nest. though he was tempted to wake her up and ask what the plan was for the day, he also didn't want to disturb her. instead, he decided to familiarize himself with the new den he found himself a part of. after all, he was going to be spending many, many moons in this den if things worked out. his paws slowly carried him in a circle around the den. he'd seen this den from the entrance of the nursery many times, but had never been brave enough to go and explore the inside. that was mostly rockpaw's thing. but now that he was here, it felt almost surreal. he found himself missing the nights he slept next to his brother, curled up against their mother's warm belly.[break][break]
he gave his head a small shake. he could see their herb storage, the sharp scent of the herbs causing his nose to wrinkle slightly. he was sure he'd get used to it in time. finally, he found himself standing in the den entrance, squinting slightly against the sudden light from outside. the sun was rising quickly-- soon the clan would be stirring. he slowly sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws as he enjoyed the beautiful sight, and the peace and quiet before the clan woke.
