At first glance she appears quite dimwitted. Sometimes things that can seem like common sense can go over her head. High-spirited most of the time, Butterflypaw always seems to be in a good mood. She views herself as superior to others and seems to be convinced that she is in some way, extraordinary and special. In reality, though, there isn't much foundation for this. While it is hard to dampen her spirits, Butterflypaw is fairly ordinary. She is terrible at lying and Butterflypaw doesn't think much about the consequences of her actions. She focuses on the current moment and doesn't realize the effect of her actions. While most of the time they seem good in the short term, sometimes what she does can come back to haunt her or those she cares about. She loves being in the spotlight. Being the center of attention is important to her.

Butterflypaw is one of Wrenwhisper's daughters from her youngest litter. She doesn't remember much about her father, Firecall. But, she did notice that after his death something in her mother seemed to change. In contrast to her sister Nightingalepaw, she is much more bubbly and cheerful. The reality of her mother's trauma and misfortune has seemed to completely go over her head. While she can sense some feelings from her family, Butterflypaw hasn't been mindful of the seriousness of things. Much of her kithood has been spent playing and attempting to be the center of attention. She finds her sister Mothpaw somewhat annoying but has a deep love for her all the same. Both of her sisters are quite different than she is. Even so, Butterflypaw is fond of them and loves them very much. She doesn't think much about the future. Or the past, really. As an apprentice, she is incredibly inexperienced, but in time she is bound to catch up.
