chestnut had been doing her best to lay low ever since discovering the clans. they piqued her interest for sure-- groups of cats living together and working together was a concept she was unfamiliar with, ever since getting split up from her family. she even briefly wondered if any of her sisters had managed to make it to the clans and perhaps were part of them. but something held her back from exploring further. perhaps due to the generally hostile nature of the clans, or not quite wanting to give up her freedom as a loner quite yet. for the time being, she made her temporary home a distance away from the clans, and merely watched.[break][break]
what she was watching for, she couldn't say. she sort of wanted to meet one of these clan cats, though. she wanted to hear more about their way of living. but getting one of them alone was a hard feat, as they tended to patrol in groups of three or more. she's a good fighter, but she wouldn't stand a chance outnumbered should they decided they wanted a fight. this didn't stop her from exploring along the clan borders after they left, however. taking in the clans' territories from just outside the border. she could tell there seemed to be four different groups, all with varying scent markers. this was about all she could glean from here, though.[break][break]
